After we landed in Dublin, our bus driver Heike drove us to Galway, a city at the west coast of Ireland. The first few days were spent there, during that time we visited the Kylemore Estate, the Cliffs of Moher, and watched a very impressive sheepdog demonstration. In Ireland, the dogs take care of the sheep, so they have to be trained in a very special way to listen to the sounds of a whistle with which the farmer gives them orders on how to keep the sheep together.
On Monday we continued our journey and drove to Bray, which is on the east coast near Dublin. Here we met our host families with whom we will stay until Friday. In Bray we have fun lessons at a language school and we often visit Dublin, where we have a guided tour, explore Croke Park, which is a famous stadium for the Gaelic Games (like Hurling or Gaelic Football), and learn some Irish Dance.
We will also meet local Irish students to find out about Irish schools, sports, and music, and simply have a chat with them!
On Friday we will leave Ireland again, but we will definitely bring amazing memories back to Austria with us!
